Nationalism: "Hastened in the Country of the Filipinos."

When you hear the words: "Nationalism among the Filipinos in the Modern World," what's the first thing that comes into your mind? What things can you imagine? Can you think of some more stuffs related to it? As time passes-by, the Nationalism of the Filipinos had been barely disappearing. Some of us, Filipinos, don't even know how to give importance to our Philippine Nationalism nowadays. And actually, they almost stop caring, but if they are the ones who never even cared at all, that's too bad then. But, as we can see, some still care; and that's the good part of this.

As a daughter, teenager, student, Bosconian, and Filipino in the world today, I can say that I can still think and do such ways that could show how proud I really am to be a Filipino. But for now, let me give some concepts first. And it goes like this.. Nationalism is the desire of a person to show his/her love for his/her country, right? So with this, I can say that Nationalism is not just a desire, but a choice too. Why? Because it's your choice if you will love and be proud of your country, right? Next, loving the country can't be shown just by words and stuff. 'Cause it can also be proven by actions. Remember: "Actions speak louder than words." And last but not the least, do you know that Filipinos are loyal, sweet, and lovable? And so, I say to you, that these characteristics should be used in showing our love for our country and Nationalism.

Now, let me mention some of the ways and advice that everyone can do, including me, of course. So for the first one, I just want to say that if you really love being a Filipino, you should learn to appreciate our culture, products, and other stuffs that our country has. How? By patronizing our country's properties than others'. Our products/properties are more fashionable & decent! It's in-with-the -style, you know! Second, share your knowledge. How? By sharing everything that you know about our country through media/technology (internet), etc. And lastly, I just want to state that these are not enough - we can still think of a lot more ways. 'Cause we, as Filipinos, can still do a lot of things that could show our Nationalism in the best way that we can. Just always remember to: "Love your country. Love your nation. Love your hometown."
